Mike Holcomb is well known in the industry for his analytical, resourceful, and entrepreneurial mindset. His extensive knowledge of the import and product development process deliver breakthroughs that impact the bottom line and generate new revenue. He has been recognized throughout his career for successful new product launches and expanding existing core business.
Mike began his career with Hobby Lobby Stores at 15 years old. He worked his way up through the ranks, managing retail stores and then moving into the corporate office as a merchant. He would eventually conceptualize and launch the Home Decor and Home Furnishings division for the company. This divisions accounted for well over one billion in revenue for Hobby Lobby. In addition to his work in Hobby Lobby stores, Mike also was the team leader for the Hemispheres Fine Furnishings stores, where he was the Senior Merchant in charge of all product and the physical designer of the store, team leader for the IT systems and played a major role in the distribution planning.

2008 - 2011
After retiring from Hobby Lobby, Mike went onto Harbor Freight Tools in California where he became entrenched in the hard-lines global sourcing industry working on major product lines such as small engines, generators, welders, electric engines, water pumps, pressure washers and other tool products. He played a major role in the quality upgrade of the Predator engines, Pittsburgh branded hand tools, and other products.
Leaving Harbor Freight to join Lumber Liquidators was another major, but welcome change for Mike, while at Lumber Liquidators he worked as the Senior Merchant for tools and accessories and as the merchant leader for the initial Lumber Liquidators store of the future program. Mike was responsible for the tool and accessory programs, fixture design/selection and part of the team that developed the sales techniques used in those stores. After working on that major program, Mike was asked to be the Senior Merchant for the new LL Tile store program, he was the store planner, Merchant buyer and co-leader of the overall initiative.
After opening the stores, Lumber Liquidators went through several rounds of legal issues related to the Lacey Act, Mike was then promoted to the Vice President of Global sourcing position. While in this position Mike was responsible for the South America, Europe, China (Shanghai) and US sourcing operations. He was tasked with rebuilding relationships with the vendor base, and helping to ensure they were compliant with all aspects of the Lacey Act. During this time, Mike received extensive compliance training on the Lacey Act, CARB, Sarbanes Oxley and many other compliance programs.
2011 - 2017
After leaving Lumber Liquidators, Mike determined that it was time to work directly with both the retailers and supplier base on compliance, sales development, customer development and vendor management. He has been working in the field for 35 years and has become an expert at the art and science of global sourcing and is here to make your job easier!
